Ministries & groups

Liturgy

The Liturgy committee is responsible for overseeing all aspects of preparing for the celebration of the Mass. Within the Liturgy committee are three distinct groups: Music, Sacramental, and Scheduling.

The Music group arranges music for Mass, including live music (preferred) or recordings played during the Mass.

The Sacramental group ensures consumable items such as communion hosts, wine, altar candles, and Missals are always available, and takes care of and changes altar linens during various feasts and liturgical seasons. Ordering and arranging flowers and decorations for the church are also part of this group's responsibilities.

The Scheduling group schedules weekly lectors, Eucharistic ministers, ushers and door greeters. It's always nice to have a friendly face to greet each parishioner and guest every Sunday!

Parish Life

The Parish Life Committee is the spirit and heartbeat of our parish. They plan and organize social events such as "Doughnut Sunday" and "Pot Luck Sunday," and help with the parish phone tree, e-mails, bulletins, website news, inclement weather information for Masses, outreach to past or potential new parish members, and visits and communion for home-bound or sick parishioners. They are always happy to have volunteers to help plan and prepare for events.

When: Doughnuts and coffee after Mass on the 2nd Sunday of every month; a pot-luck meal after Mass on the last Sunday of every month.

Justice and Peace

The committee works with other local churches in the community and government entities to provide assistance to families and individuals. They have a remarkable reputation in the community for responding to those in need while promoting human dignity.

Justice and Peace raises a good portion of its operating funds through fundraising and through grants obtained through the Diocese. Each year they reach a number of families in need through the Christmas basket and Angel Tree projects.

Religious Education

This group organizes and procures teaching materials for both children and adults, ensures Virtus training is delivered where required, and schedules and prepares children for the sacraments. The group also leads evangelization to spread the good news and welcome new members.

Maintenance

Holy Family church is over 60 years old, and the building requires continual maintenance. This committee oversees and prioritizes the needs of the building and grounds, obtains estimates and oversees work from local contractors for repairs and improvements, coordinates parish work crews for seasonal work, and coordinates custodial care and snow removal.

Knights of Columbus

Holy Family has several men who are members of the Knights of Columbus. If you are interested in joining, visit the council's website.
